About the InVision Printer API

You can send STL files directly from your 3-D CAD package to the InVision Client Preview window by integrating the InVision Printer API with your application. Doing so requires a CAD application-specific "plug-in" or "add-in" script or macro program in addition to the InVision Printer API software.

If you are interested in direct 3-D printing from your CAD package, contact 3D Systems. We can help you, your IT staff, or your CAD vendor integrate the InVision Printer API. In addition, you will soon be able to obtain a copy of the InVision 3-D Printer API User's Guide. This guide will provide complete InVision Printer API specifications and instructions for invoking the API in various CAD and 3-D modeling applications.

NOTE: If you use SolidWorks, you can print to your InVision printer without additional programming. See Printing from SolidWorks.
