PCI driver

 

Location of the PCI driver installer:

 

 -  x:\Drivers\PCIdrv     (The letter ‘x’ means the drive letter of the CD-rom).

 

Installation

 

Follow instructions below.

 

1.      Start SmartPad PC and login to the Windows®

2.      Close SmartNav if it runs

3.      Place SmartNav installation CD to the CD-rom drive (if SmartNav installation window opens then click exit)

4.      If the Device driver installation wizard do not starts automatically then

·        Select “START => CONTROL PANEL => PERFORMANCE AND MAINTENANCE => SYSTEM”

·        Select “HARDWARE” tab

·        Click “DEVICE MANAGER” button

·        Browse “Instrumentarium Dental Devices” and expand it by selecting a “+” symbol on the left hand side of it

·        Right click “Serial link PCI device” and select “Update Driver…”

5.      Select “No, not this time” and click “NEXT” button on the Welcome pane.

6.      Select “Install from a list or specific location (Advanced)” and click “NEXT” button in the Wizard pane.

7.      Select “Search the best…” radio button

8.      Unselect “Search removable media”

9.      Select “Include this location” and click “BROWSE” button to specify x:\Drivers\PCIdrv folder as a driver installation folder.

10.  Click “OK”, click “NEXT” and finally click “FINISH” button

11.  Re-boot SmartPad PC

 

 

Un-installation

 

Follow instructions below.

 

1.      Start SmartPad PC and login to the Windows®

2.      Close SmartNav if it runs

3.      Place SmartNav installation CD to the CD-rom drive (if SmartNav installation window opens then click exit)

4.      Select “START => CONTROL PANEL => PERFORMANCE AND MAINTENANCE => SYSTEM”.

5.      Then select “HARDWARE tab and click “DEVICE MANAGER” button from the device manager.

6.      Browse “Instrumentarium Dental Devices” and expand it by selecting a “+” symbol on the left hand side of it

7.      Right click “Serial link PCI device” and select “Un-install”

8.      Click “OK”

9.      Click “YES” to re-start SmartPad PC

 

 

Reinstallation

 

Updating the PCI driver requires the un-installation of exist driver first and then new installation is allowed. Follow the Un-installation and Installation sections above to do that.
