NIC driver (Network Interface card)

Location of the NIC driver installer:

- x:\Drivers\NIC_driver (The letter ‘x’ means the drive letter of the CD-rom).

Installation

Follow instructions below.

1. Start SmartPad PC and login to the Windows®

2. Close SmartNav program if it runs

3. Place SmartNav installation CD to the CD-rom drive (if SmartNav installation window opens then click exit)

4. Open Windows® explorer and browse to the x:\Drivers\NIC_driver folder

5. Double click Setup.exe icon to start NIC installer

6. Wait until installer shows complete message and click then “FINISH” button

7. Re-start SmartPad PC

Un-installation

Follow instructions below.

1. Start SmartPad PC and login to the Windows®

2. Close SmartNav program if it runs

3. Select “START => CONTROL PANEL => PERFORMANCE AND MAINTENANCE => SYSTEM”.

4. Then select “HARDWARE tab and click “DEVICE MANAGER” button from the device manager.

5. Browse “Network Adabters” and expand it by selecting a “+” symbol on the left hand side of it

6. Right click “Realtek RTL8169/8110…” and select “Un-install”

7. Click “OK”

8. Re-start SmartPad PC

Reinstallation

Updating the NIC driver requires the un-installation of exist driver first and then new installation is allowed. Follow the Un-installation and Installation sections above to do that.
