Display driver

 

Location of the Display driver installer:

 

 -  x:\Drivers\Disp_driver     (The letter ‘x’ means the drive letter of the CD-rom).

 

Installation

 

Follow instructions below.

 

1.      Start SmartPad PC and login to the Windows®

2.      Close SmartNav program if it runs

3.      If “Welcome to the Found New Hardware Wizard” dialog opens then close it.

4.      Place SmartNav installation CD to the CD-rom drive (if SmartNav installation window opens then click exit)

5.      Open Windows® explorer and browse to the x:\Drivers\Disp_driver folder

6.      Double click Setup.exe icon to start the driver installer

7.      Click “NEXT”

8.      Click “YES” and wait a moment until installation is completed

9.      Click “FINISH” to re-start SmartPad PC

 

 

Un-installation

 

Follow instructions below.

 

1.      Start SmartPad PC and login to the Windows®

2.      Close SmartNav program if it runs

3.      Select “START => CONTROL PANEL => PERFORMANCE AND MAINTENANCE => SYSTEM”.

4.      Then select “HARDWARE tab and click “DEVICE MANAGER” button from the device manager.

5.      Browse “Display Adapters” and expand it by selecting a “+” symbol on the left hand side of it

6.      There are two graphic controllers under “Display Adapter”. Right click first one of the “Intel® 82852/82855...” graphic drivers and select “Un-install”.

7.      Click “OK”

8.      Click “YES”

9.      Re-start SmartPad PC

10.  Perform steps from 1 to 5

11.  Right click remaining graphic driver under “display adapters” and select “Un-install”

12.  Click “OK”

13.  Click “YES”

14.  Re-start SmartPad PC

 

 

Reinstallation

 

Updating the Display driver requires the un-installation of exist driver first and then new installation is allowed. Follow the Un-installation and Installation sections above to do that.
